Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be played in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, through a web connection. The rules are very simple and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to come away with money. On this account it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "handed out" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has selected which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced players are able to select the most beneficial machine each instance.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game allow the enthusiast an opportunity to double their profits, in which case a further game is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
