Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, using a net account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to get the highest assemblage of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (whether it is tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A five card hand will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the gambler has selected which cards he or she wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that skillful enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most profitable game each and every time.

After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, a few styles of the game allow the bettor an opportunity to double their profits, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
