Electronic Poker is a favored game that is able to be bet on in casinos around the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a net account. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. On this account it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the interaction with competing players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will then be "dealt" on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards he or she wishes to keep, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning enthusiasts are able to select the most profitable machine every time.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, a few versions of the game give the player a chance to increase their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
